Atim Kilama-Oceng is an architect, artist, and designer working at the intersection of cultural research, objects, and spatial storytelling. Her practice is grounded in the belief that design is a cultural act—one that carries responsibility, authorship, and the power to make underrepresented narratives visible.
With over eight years of experience across architecture, design, and project management, Atim has worked on international projects spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Having worked within renowned global architectural, design, and management practices—including BDP, Hawkins Brown, Make Architects, Benoy, and Sybarite—her work ranges from large-scale urban and hospitality developments to intimate interior and object-based projects. This breadth has shaped her understanding of how context, material, and form carry cultural meaning.
In 2021, Atim was longlisted as New Talent in Architecture by an international architectural journal. Her research-led project Goat Mountain: An Architectural Prophecy of Uganda’s Agriculture was later published by Architizer, recognised for offering new ways of interpreting landscapes through cultural and ecological narratives. Alongside her practice, she contributes to widening discourse within the design industry through mentorship initiatives supporting POC.
Within Unmuted Tones, Atim operates as an artist represented by the studio, contributing research, objects, and spatial explorations that sit in dialogue with other voices. The studio functions as a collective platform rather than a singular authorship, prioritising ethical engagement, cultural embeddedness, and long-term contribution.
